Job Purpose

Monitors Renewable Energy ESS market dynamics, competitive environment and solution needs and requirements to inform successful solution development strategies and customer development programs. Work with Sales, Product Development, Operations and Customer Service/Field Services to create and execute strategic revenue generation strategies in the Residential and C&I Energy Storage segments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gather knowledge of relevant markets, competitors and customer trends to inform the development of product line architectures for both domestic and international Renewable Energy ESS markets
  • Represent EnerSys on external bodies including industry consortia, standards-setting bodies and policy-related industry forums
  • Ensure new product plans and product development programs meet evolving customer needs for Renewable Energy ESS
  • Attend tradeshows and on-site customer survey visits
  • Actively research supply chain partners and make recommendations to Manufacturing and Engineering to support the above System initiatives including suppliers of: LiOn Batteries,power electronics systems, energy management software, home energy management platforms, and grid interactivity hardware and software
  • Travel expected (10-20%)


  • Bachelor's degree in related engineering or technical field
  • 10-15 years experience in strategy, competitive intelligence, product management, new product development, and marketingincluding 7 years relevant experience with residential solar and/or energy storage companies.
  • 4-6 years supervisory experience within the Renewables market Ability to motivate cross-functional teams and work in a matrix organization Proven track record in leading teams
  • Understanding of sales process, strategy development, business-case development and market implementation
  • Capable of credibly representing EnerSys and its positions to third parties including industry consortia and policy-makers
  • Capable of presenting strategic initiatives to senior and executive management Strong communication and time management skills
  • Excellent understanding of budgeting, P&Ls, and product profitability analysis
  • Ability to deliver objectives within budgetary boundaries Ability to interface with internal/external partners at all levels
  • Ability to support customers with a strong degree of technical competence Intermediate skills with various Microsoft Office applications


  • Sales and/or Marketing leadership responsibilityparticularly with solar and energy storage companies
