Job Overview: The Commercial Office Finance team is accountable for building driver-based, top-line revenue targets, executing near- and intermediate-term forecasts used to support external guidance processes, providing clear line of sight to business performance via regular business reporting, and identifying key opportunities for future growth. The current opening for a Senior Finance Manager will support our Enterprise business and partner closely with our Product Marketing teams and WCB / GSMO Finance. This is a phenomenal opportunity to support a critical pillar of our cloud strategy and provides the candidate broad visibility to and influence over Microsoft’s shift toward cross-product platform go-to-market strategies.
Business partnering: Partner with Engineering Group (EG) Finance, Product Marketing (PMG), and WW Marketing and Operations (M&O) teams to drive clear planning discussions that incorporate product roadmaps, revenue strategies, and strategic investments. Work closely with Worldwide Commercial Business Finance and Modern Workplace teams to ensure consistent performance dialog
Financial modeling: Build robust, driver-based financial models to guide decision-making on business structure, strategy, pricing, revenue, and strategic direction. Effectively manage multiple demands across Marketing and Sales with the ability to focus effort on core drivers and simplifying when appropriate
Financial analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide health of business readouts and trends, and articulate those findings to finance and marketing leadership to support decision making
Rhythm of business: Conduct regular revenue and key performance indicators reviews, develop quarterly forecast and target in partnership with Office Commercial FP&A team, and support business reviews
Synthesize and communicate complex analyses; craft straight-forward story-lines for senior management and key business partners (non-Finance and Finance, alike)
Thorough and detail-oriented, yet able to “see the forest for the trees” when assessing what the numbers mean
Experience with managing a regular, time-constrained process, including a passion for continuous improvement
Able to handle multiple stakeholders and workstreams and prioritize as needed [including pushing back]
Ability to handle a high degree of ambiguity, and fast-paced change management
Prior experience with MS Sales, reporting cubes, pivot tables and other tools ideal
7 or more years of relevant work experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, controllership with a strong analytical foundation
BS/BA or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
