Job description:
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Investment Solutions group partners across the organization to design and deliver scalable financial planning solutions aimed at wealth management and retail brokerage clients and prospects.  

 

The Financial Planning Chief of Staff will report to the head of Financial Planning Platforms and conduct business analysis to support the development of strategic initiatives across client segments. 

 

This includes the development and maintenance of competitive analysis, evaluation of development opportunities across the platform to increase adoption of tools, generate revenue, and management of strategic vendors, including negotiations and cost savings opportunities.

 

The Financial Planning Chief of Staff will partner with leadership and subject matter experts, across Business and Platform Groups within Wealth Management, to develop and manage execution against strategic direction, in conjunction with Business and Platform leadership.

 

The Financial Planning Chief of Staff will also be responsible for supporting the development of a digital offering that drives planning engagement, in partnership with Digital platform, Morgan Stanley@Work and Sales leadership. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • -    Manage strategic initiatives across Planning platforms in alignment with business priorities and budget
  • -    Support current and ongoing product management goals and KPIs
  • -    Develop communications and routines to ensure cross-functional coordination across teams
  • -    Conduct research into Retail, Stock Plan and Wealth client segments to identify enhancement opportunities (planning value propositions, capabilities, and experiences) which align with strategic priorities and roadmap
  • -    Maintain and drive development of Financial Planning Key Process Indicators, while supporting detailed analysis, in support of strategic decision-making
  • -    Provide strategic planning support (Annual Budget Process, Business Case Development), in alignment with business objectives
  • -    Partner across WM teams to optimize vendor strategy, including developing and maintaining competitive analysis, supporting contract negotiations, and coordination of communications across teams  
  • -    Development and coordination of presentations to support leadership and stakeholder forums
