We seek a senior communications officer to lead a unified communications strategy that supports Morgan Stanley's efforts around diversity and inclusion, recruiting, multicultural client engagement, community engagement, philanthropic efforts and ESG. The successful candidate will position Morgan Stanley as an employer of choice with a differentiated approach, communicating that positioning externally and internally. This individual will partner with key stakeholders to develop and manage a communications framework and narrative across multiple communications channels and platforms. The executive in this role will manage a junior employee and work closely with other colleagues on the press, digital media and internal communications teams.

- Raise external and internal awareness of Morgan Stanley's Global Sustainable Finance (GSF) Group including the Institute for Sustainable Investing. Promote the platform's mission to support resilient communities and promote economic opportunity and global sustainability through the capital markets. Manage the Firm's messaging around ESG themes and topics in the public domain in coordination with key stakeholders across the Firm. Partner with GSF's leadership to highlight the initiatives, programs and research of the group across external channels such as press and digital platforms, and internal channels that reach employees across the Firm.
- Develop proactive communications strategies to promote the activities, policies and programs of Morgan Stanley's Human Resources division with a particular focus on initiatives around diversity and inclusion. This includes promoting the work of the newly created Institute for Inclusion. Work closely with colleagues in those departments to position Morgan Stanley with internal and external audiences as an employer of choice that is committed to maintaining a workplace that offers dynamic career opportunities in an inclusive environment for all employees.
- Partner with the leadership of the Multicultural Client Strategy Group to design and manage a robust communications strategy spanning press and digital platforms to promote Morgan Stanley's strategy and initiatives around engaging with multicultural clients and communities. The components of this platform include promotion of the Firm's in-house accelerator program for early-stage tech and tech-enabled companies led by women and multicultural entrepreneurs, thought leadership on investment trends for multicultural and female-let start-ups that includes investor surveys, a podcast series, and other content on these themes.
- The position requires daily, proactive engagement with stakeholders across the Firm to develop and drive communications plans with unified messages for each initiative across external and internal platforms. The role requires engagement with national, local and specialty media to generate positive coverage of Morgan Stanley's activities in these areas. Media relations activities will span meeting with covered stakeholders to set communications goals, developing media and content plans and identifying opportunities; pitching story ideas; providing background information; coordinating interviews with principals; and serving as a media spokesperson, ensuring that established communications goals are met. In addition to media relations, the successful candidate will initiate and drive other creative and proactive initiatives in the digital media arena including the Firm's external website and social media platforms as well as internal platforms that complement the activities related to the coverage areas.
