Job Description  

As the standard bearer for Customer Success in the recurring revenue economy, Gainsight considers it a top priority to build partnerships with private equity and venture capital firms for whom we can help grow financial and performance outcomes by improving the performance of their portfolio companies.

The Partner Success Manager, Private Equity/Venture Capital at Gainsight is a critical member of the Business Development and Alliances Team, reporting directly to the VP of Business Development and Alliances. You will help lead the expansion of Gainsight’s private equity and venture capital partner ecosystem and act as a main stakeholder responsible for driving joint growth and go-to-market strategies. Specifically, this means setting the vision and strategy for recruitment new PE/VC partners and managing existing ones, educating investors and portfolio operators on Gainsight’s key value proposition, driving sales opportunities from qualified portfolio companies, establishing and growing relationships with key stakeholders at both the PE/VC firms and their portfolio companies, and collaborating with cross-functional peers to deliver against key performance targets for our partners.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for private equity (PE) and venture capital firms, including investors and portfolio operators
  • Lead and grow initiatives to target, evaluate and recruit new PE/VC partners and identify how Gainsight solutions deliver benefits to firms and their portfolio companies
  • Lead and implement partnership strategies for delivering education and thought leadership to firms and their portfolios, joint account planning with partners, repeatable playbooks and collateral to enable partners, design preferred pricing and legal packages, and regular cadences for firm/portfolio performance reviews
  • Own a pipeline target for driving the sales of Gainsight within the portfolios of existing PE/VC partners
  • Develop assets to empower partners to position the Gainsight platform as a standard, must-have solution for their portfolio
  • Work cross-functionally with Gainsight team members and executives to conduct portfolio review to ensure all startups from premium partner portfolio are set to success
  • Coordinate with Gainsight Account Executives to hand off leads, and with Client Outcomes Managers to prove the value of Gainsight to an investor’s portfolio company that is a current customer
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, engineering, finance and other internal business units across the company to build and execute on strategies and track progress against joint business goals
  • Reporting out on a regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadence to all key stakeholders, with a strong analytical approach and crisp communication style.

Required skills

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of strategic/technology partnership experience
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with operationalizing and scaling partner engagement teams, systems and processes
  • Passionate about technology startup and the venture ecosystem
  • Professional and technical knowledge, as well as an extensive understanding of technology and venture industry trends and the key players in the landscape
  • Experience with spearheading initiatives with cross-functional teams on a number of concurrent engagements
  • Record of professional achievements with a track record of delighted, successful, and satisfied customers and partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent cross-team collaboration skills, and demonstrated ability to impact and influence outcomes in matrixed environment
  • Executive presence and confidence in communicating with technical, business, and C-level stakeholders
  • Comfortable influencing stakeholders through executive level presentation creation and delivery
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving and service orientation; Positive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and dig deep to achieve goals
  • Passion to be an expert on the product and for being part of a fast growing company
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
