This active, full time role focuses on program management for employee development initiatives as part of the strategic HR goals for the Global Talent Management (GTM) team at Intuitive. From in-person classes at our Sunnyvale, CA campus to online modules and virtual classroom training events open to our global community, the GTM team offers a platform of development programs, learning communities, and on-the-job tools for the Intuitive employee population. The Talent Development – Learning Programs Specialist & Facilitator role supports program logistics, training software systems, instructional design, and facilitation for the Global Talent Development (GTD) team.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong project management and organizational skills, a critical thinking and user-centric mindset, decision-making ability, proven experience as a trainer/facilitator, and the ability to work independently. Facilitation experience is required, with comfort speaking in front of small- and large-sized groups. We ask that you can proactively manage work requirements with an ability to articulate bandwidth and project status in a high-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.

A typical work day may include curating content and developing training materials, setting up supplies and meeting external facilitators for training events, working in the back-end of our learning management system (LMS) to manage rosters and publish new training modules, as well as speaking with employees about internal development opportunities. You will regularly facilitate training programs in-person and online via the virtual classroom, as well. This role has opportunity for professional growth as you streamline operational actions and transition more deeply in course content design and delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

Facilitation and Content Development
• Facilitate learning and development programs for a global audience, without always being the subject-matter expert (SME) yourself
• Produce and facilitate trainings in-person and using virtual classroom software
• Educate employees about development opportunities and resources
• Collaborate with SMEs to deliver training courses and online modules
• Advise SMEs on training content and course design
• Design and develop training materials like presentation slide decks, participant manuals, and reinforcement tools
• Collaborate with the team’s Graphics and Learning Designer to brand and create program materials, slide decks, and online resources

Program/Project Management
• Design, promote, and run talent development training programs by first effectively diagnosing development needs
• Create, market, and manage training schedules and rosters
• Produce trainings using web conferencing / virtual classroom software
• Develop program feedback and effectiveness surveys
• Manage participant rosters and maintain inventory of program supplies
• Partner with cross-functional departments by listening to needs for, consulting on, and delivering training programs
• Coordinate with external consultants, training vendors, and internal SMEs
• Analyze training program feedback and results following sessions to continuously improve programs
Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements: 

Educational/Environmental Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in learning & development, instructional design, HR, or education); Masters preferred
• 5-10 years of experience (preferably in a learning & development and/or education-focused role)
• Work daily at the Sunnyvale, CA campus, except under special circumstances pre-determined with manager
• Available periodic evenings and some weekend hours with prior notice for program support and facilitation
• Willingness to travel to company functions and off-site trainings events; Travel 10-15% (US and international)

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Project management skills with a focus on detailed planning and execution
• Experience with event coordination/training program logistics
• Success maintaining relationships with external vendors and consultants
• Problem-solving and analytical mindset, interested in process improvement
• Ability to turn big and complex ideas into practical, culturally relevant solutions with application to the business
• Technical savvy with Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to learn new software programs quickly
• Experience tracking training course evaluations and identifying trends and opportunities
• Comfort in public speaking to small- and large-sized groups (in-person & virtually)
• Team player with the ability to build productive working relationships and collaborate cross-functionally
• Ability to work both in a team toward common goals, as well as self-directed to complete individual deliverables
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability and interest in interacting with a globally distributed, multi-cultural team
• Capable of physically lifting boxes weighing up to 40lbs

Preferred Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and practice to design and lead innovative strategies and programs
• Administrative/back-end use of LMS systems (ex: SuccessFactors/Plateau, SumTotal)
• Development of courses using eLearning software (ex: Articulate 360, Articulate Rise, Camtasia)
• Use of web conferencing/virtual classroom software to facilitate training (ex: Adobe Connect, WebEx)
• Ability to facilitate in other language(s) / bi-lingual experience welcome
• Experience designing for blended, flipped, and spaced learning experiences
