Microsoft is a leader in the design of world class entertainment devices. Microsoft’s Silicon team builds custom silicon for Microsoft’s innovative hardware products including Microsoft Xbox, HoloLens.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a senior level design engineer to create custom and semi-custom ASICs. You will be responsible for all facets of design including the architecture of features, the microarchitecture of IP blocks, RTL design, synthesis, static timing analysis, silicon validation, as well as support for the manufacturability of the part. You will work across multiple teams including architects for feature definition, various design teams for leverage and collaboration, and design and systems teams for requirements.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience
  • Experience in designing IP and completing SoC tape outs in deep sub-micron technologies
  • Expertise in digital design including specification development, CDC, LINT and RTL coding in Verilog
  • Experience in chip design quality tapeout through design and checklist reviews
  • Experience in mapping SW algorithms to HW with low power techniques is a plus
  • Knowledgeable and experience in High Level Synthesis (HLS) is a plus.
  • Communication skills and the ability to facilitate collaboration across Microsoft internal groups and external vendors
  • Occasional travel

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
