Design Project Managers play a fundamental role in the design team by ensuring that the team delivers on their commitments. They work with designers in defining the approach to specific design challenges, the timeline for a specific workstream, and the deadlines for deliverables. Design Project Managers closely collaborate with other functional roles in managing dependencies between design, on one side, and engineering, product or marketing, on the other.

What we look for:

  • 3-5 years experience managing design or product development projects in a start-up, design consulting firm, corporate design office, or similar.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with Product, Marketing, and Engineering in a start-up or corporate environment.
  • Experience working with design research and analytics to facilitate the integration of qualitative and quantitative insights into product designs.
  • Experience shipping responsive web and mobile products.

What you will do:

  • Manage design projects by creating plans, setting priorities, and negotiating the delivery of dependencies across teams.
  • Create, run, and document design meetings and meetings between design and other functional roles for regular internal exchange.
  • Track and document design decisions, including tactical feedback on work, and ensure the design team follows through.
  • Contribute to the design team resource management in the product and marketing design teams.
  • Represent a human-centred approach and the priorities of design with other functional roles and management.
