Quip is looking for a passionate and experienced user experience researcher to start and grow our research team at Quip. Researchers at Quip will work with colleagues across the company— including Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering to build and improve Quip's team productivity platform.

In the position you will connect with the companies we serve, including some of the largest Fortune 100 enterprises, and learn from their business objectives, workflows, and needs. This ensures our products and services are useful, innovative, and delightful. Applicants should be experts at uncovering insights that drive impact for technology companies.

Along with your resumé, please submit a portfolio. An ideal structure would be to include examples of recent project work: describing research conducted, insights generated, and outcomes from each.

You will:

  • Research a wide variety of domains, including investigations into people’s needs, tool stack, workflows, and communications
  • Work with development teams to understand their goals and research questions, and design appropriate and effective research plans
  • Get your hands dirty and personally do recruitment to find participants; represent Quip professionally to our customers and partners
  • Execute complex research studies with rigor and ease, bringing your colleagues in other disciplines along for the journey
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data and convey those insights to the appropriate people in an engaging and actionable manner
  • Be an internal evangelist for customer and product research

You have:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading qualitative research in a professional environment. Candidates will have demonstrated research ability and rigor across major user research methodologies.
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Extensive experience conducting insights research—from early strategy work to usability studies
  • Experience turning insights into actionable visions for new products, services, or go-to-market plans and identifying a path towards that vision
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with interaction designers, product managers and engineers on software based experiences
  • Able to develop and deliver analysis and recommendations for senior executives in verbal, visual, and written format

Even better:

  • Producing lightweight videos to bring research findings to life
  • Simple prototyping of concepts for feedback
  • Graduate degree
