Do you want to contribute to cool things like gaming, Xbox, Enterprise app distribution, education and classroom experiences, MSIX (fka Project Centennial or .appx), or even helping bring high value apps to the Windows Store (i.e. Office)?

The App Foundations team is looking for a Program Manager to create experiences for building and deploying apps on Windows. As a Program Manager on the App Foundations team you will be responsible for contributing to MSIX, helping transform app deployment platform, and how developers and IT Pros manage their apps, users, and devices. In addition, we are looking to expand the App developer experiences to enhance our open source cross platform scenarios on iOS, Android, Linux, and MacOS.

As part of the team you will get to work with partners across various parts of the company including the Windows Store Team, Xbox (including first and third-party studios), Office, and Visual Studio. We also focus on working directly with third party partners and interfacing directly with our external developer and enterprise communities through customer engagement programs and participating in Microsoft events like Build and Ignite.


Basic qualifications:

  • 4+ years of work experience as a Program Manager with a focus on apps, services, or platform features
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or other related field


Additional qualifications desired:

  • Excellent listening and writing skills, and the ability to successfully lead and communicate with a cross-functional team 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, prioritization across multiple partners and projects, and triage issues
  • Experience writing content for a developer and external audiences (blog posts, documentation)
  • Highly capable presenter to large groups
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Contributions to Open Source projects
  • Outstanding ability to collaborate with other teams
  • Proven track record shipping quality products on time
  • Developed and shipped an app in an app store (Windows Store, Google Play, or Apple App Store)
