Senior UI Engineer for Data Visualization

Location: San Francisco or San Rafael, CA- United States 

Position Overview

  Autodesk is seeking a UI Engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years experience creating and developing Data Visualizations and front end engineering in general. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining data visualizations and dashboards living in different ecosystems and platforms, from BI tools to custom front-end applications consuming fed by external API & services. Responsibilities  - Analyze datasets in order to design visualizations for different internal ADSK dashboards and platforms - Create visualization in BI tools like Looker.com - Create custom visualization with tools like D3.js or Highcharts - Develop and maintain Dashboards (Web apps) using frontend technologies (React, Express, Node and JavaScript in general) - Craft User Interfaces for delightful User Experience - Connect custom applications to 3rd party and ADSK internal APIs - Help landing requirements for new dashboards, web apps and visualizations - Maintain and create instances to host small web applications in the AWS ecosystem Minimum Qualifications  - Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in the field of Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics; advanced degree a plus - Nodejs ecosystem - Modern component-based frontend frameworks (React in this case) - ES2015 compilers (Babel in this case) - Have always performance and caching as priority - Unit testing (Jest) - Advanced knowledge on CSS and comfortable with different approaches (styled-components, BEM...) - Experience with visualization frameworks such as D3.js and out-of-the-box visualization libraries like Highcharts - Experience working in a largely data-oriented team - Good knowledge of HTML semantics - Comfortable working with SQL, Queries, Databases, tables and a data ecosystem in general - Experience as a UX Engineer, UX Designer or Interaction designer - Able to support UX research duties such as interviews and User testing sessions - Familiarity developing in Looker or any other BI tool Preferred Qualifications - Large experience working with Git and its different workflows - Good understanding of Data structures, JSON, XML - Technical writing (for documentation)
