Position Title: Mechanical Designer

Location: Peachtree Corners, GA

Position Overview:

3D CAD proficient with components and assemblies of circuit breakers. Components include sheet metals and molded parts, which include drafts and rounds. Basic molding experience is required. Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is required. Mechanical simulation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

The person will be responsible for detailed 3D CAD designs based on advice from engineers. Designs will contain accurate model representations that will be used to manufacture tooling including:

• Molds – models will contain drafts and rounds
• Stamping dies – models in sheet metals capable of generating flat-patterns
• Drawings showing GD&T practices

The person will also generate mechanical analyses and tolerance studies.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Engineering Technology degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience modeling electromechanical or equivalent components and assemblies
• Some travel (< 3%) may be required
• Creo, Solid Work, or NX experience is required

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Associates Degree in Engineering
• Preferred expertise in Creo Parametric 7 or higher
• Mechanical simulation experience would be a plus
