uShip’s Partnership team is seeking a versatile and highly-motivated Business Development Manager to help new companies become partners of uShip, allow them to streamline their internal operations, reduce costs, and delight their customers.

As a key member of the Partnership team, you will be in a position to help build a key strategic program from the ground up. You must be able to engage with senior executives at partner companies, have an eye for creatively solving business challenges, and efficiently multitask. You will play a key role in the Partnership team by helping to promote the services of uShip through focused communication with partners, our internal teams, and maintain and grow the health of accounts.


  • Act as a point of contact for a variety of inbound partnership opportunities, identifying their pain points and how uShip can address them
  • Engage with partner companies on a regular basis, through emails, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings
  • Lay out a partner plan/roadmap for success, defining a clear value proposition, and managing proposals/projects through to the end
  • Nurture and define new incremental revenue opportunities within existing partnerships.
  • Proactively contact new potential partners in related or adjacent industries with potentially similar logistics challenges
  • Operate as a leader in a fast-moving, high-energy company
  • Act as a liaison between product development teams, member support, marketing, operations, reporting, and other business functions
  • Demonstrate comfort around executive management
  • Achieving partnership relationship targets and KPI’s
  • Escalating and resolving areas of concern as raised by partners
  • Act independently and responsibly within a framework of success
  • Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with partners at all organizational levels
  • Act as the primary point person for managing partner disputes and successes


  • Previous experience in partner development, business development, or channel development is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build rapport with partners.
  • 5+ years in outbound B2B sales or channel sales/partner management experience a plus
  • Hands-on experience working with CRM tools, such as Salesforce
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of B2B transportation/logistics/operations is a plus but is not required
  • Knowledge of software product management processes and e-commerce is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency in competitive analysis
  • Proficiency in being able to “think like the customer”
  • Passion for developing client satisfaction while maintaining focus on internal objectives
  • High level of initiative and commitment to developing consistently excellent partner experiences
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
  • Positive attitude/keen sense of team collaboration
  • Some travel (usually 1x/month or less)
