Will work within the operations team, under minimal supervision, with responsibility for operations activities, including, but not limited to the following:
- Provide engineering input on key topics.
- Report and communicate findings, progress and results on assigned responsibilities and projects to supervisor on a regular basis.
- Present to team members and leadership on accomplishments during each eight month rotation.
- Interact with cross-functional leaders and departments to resolve production issues.
- Identify and implement projects in the designated function to enhance overall product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Rotational Assignments may include:
Manufacturing Engineering:
- Interface with product builders or extrusion technicians, production supervisors, and engineers in troubleshooting problems on the production floor.
- Identify and implement process/product improvement alternatives to increase/optimize yield, efficiency, throughput, and/or performance.
- Design, perform, and document engineering test experiments to evaluate product/process performance.
- Design, develop, test, and validate equipment and processes; analyze and interpret process models and recommend process improvements.
- Evaluate external process technologies.
Industrial Engineering/Project Management:
- Implement and Analyze lean process improvements to reduce cost and improve efficiencies in partnership with the business.
- Perform and evaluate work measurement and workflow analysis for the establishment of standards and the utilization of production facilities.
- Develop plant and equipment layout, capacity plans, workflow and accident prevention measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities.
- Provide product assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices.
- Evaluate new techniques and technological developments for inclusion in the production process.
- On-going support and advancement of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices in direct area of responsibility.
- Coach, mentor and lead project groups through Stryker Production System and Lean Lighthouse initiatives.
- Work with Process Development, Production, Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering teams to lead facility/line layout design and implementation projects.
- Work on New Product Introduction or large-scale Manufacturing Transfer teams.
Production Supervisor:
- Lead, oversee, coordinate and facilitate the activities in a production area ensuring safety, quality, and compliance while achieving production goals, efficiency, yield targets and cost objectives.
- Provide strong supervision of human resources including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, development and performance management.
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects to improve quality, increase capacity, improve efficiency, reduce scrap, or improve space utilization.
Quality Assurance:
- Provide quality engineering support in quality assurance, control and preventive activities within operations and other business functions, with a focus on preventive measures and continuous improvement of products and processes. Advocate and lead the execution of initiatives & projects to enhance quality performance within the business. Ensure compliance to regulation and standards.
- Initiation and ownership of NC and CAPA, builds proficiency in problem solving and root causing activities.
- Participate in the development and improvement of the manufacturing processes for existing and new products.
- Maintain KPIs for monitoring of process and supplier quality, perform analysis and interpret trends, take action as necessary.
- Participate and interface in internal audits providing effective narrative and description of topic of expertise, participate in external audits preparation
Supply Planning:
- Create the build requirements as well as ensure sufficient capacity is available for long term strategic growth initiatives. Work hand in hand with our divisional partners to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.
- The role’s purpose is to support the creation of an overall supply plan for the specific plants and 3rd party suppliers within the specific franchise scope. The role will interface with production scheduling, procurement, and customer services to ensure an integrated approach in supply planning within the franchise and take the lead in responding to the demand requirements from the business and ensuring that there is supply plan in place to communicate what needs to be produced and purchased to the manufacturing and supply base within the franchise.
- Key performance indicators for the role will be Supply Plan Attainment, Safety stock health, Capacity Utilization, Back order and Lead time.
