We are currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer in Redmond, WA for our R&D team. This individual will be responsible for developing medical device systems in a regulated environment. A senior systems engineer contributes to projects, under the direction of the lead systems engineer.
Any applicant must get excited by challenging old designs and inventing new ones. They must be able to challenge their own assumptions to arrive at new ideas. They must thrive on trying new design methods.
This is a great opportunity for functional engineers (software or electrical) to branch out into a new skill. Stryker is comfortable hiring superior functional engineers, who have a track record of strong design skills, and turning them into outstanding systems engineers. These applicants will receive coaching and on-the-job training to learn the necessary skills
What You Will Do
- You will translate user needs to system requirements.
- you will modify existing system architectures or test designs.
- You will create new system architectures or test designs for simple products or features.
- You will contribute to design decomposition using, modeling, simulation, budgeting, or mathematical techniques.
- You will develop and analyze solutions, participating in Concept Phase activities.
- You will apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices and procedures for problem solving.
- You will execute analytical study protocols, including trade studies, sensitivity studies, optimization studies, performance assessments, and design assessments.
- You will participate in system integration testing.
- You will create and execute integration tests.
- You will contribute to Product Risk Management activities.
- Bachelor of Science in Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Biomedical Engineering or other related discipline required.
- 2+ years of work experience required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of requirement and verification practices.
- Working knowledge of Requirements Management Tools.
- Ability to communicate basic plans and technical information to team members.
- Requirements Management Software, especially Jama.
- Experience with SysML and Model-based Systems Engineering.
- Experience with SysML / MBSE software tools.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 14971.
- INCOSE ASEP certified, or equivalent.
