What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure:
This position performs inspections, testing, and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems and other water-based systems in accordance with all national and local standards.
- · Provide inspection, testing, and service for wet, dry, pre-action and deluge fire sprinkler systems; backflow preventors; water tanks; fire hydrants; foam-based systems; water mist systems; and fire pumps per NFPA 25 standards.
- · Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations.
- · Provide subject matter expertise to peers.
- · Discuss noted deficiencies, remedies, and pricing with customers and follow up on corrective actions.
- · Follow and maintain highly-structured inspection schedules.
- · Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to required city municipality websites.
- · Perform service and deficiency repairs on all fire sprinkler system types.
- · Complete service ticket documentation and inspection reports before leaving customer site.
- · Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections; assist with training.
- · Work overtime when needed.
- · Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- · Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role.
- · Provide hands-on training and coaching to entry-level inspectors.
- · Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment.
- · High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- · Experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Sprinkler and/or Fire Life Safety Systems; 2+ years preferred
- · NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems Level II or state certification
- · Must obtain NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems Level III or state certification within 12 months
- · Ability to read and understand design and construction documents
- Experience with Fire Alarm, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, and other Life Safety services preferred
- · Experience estimating impairment, deficiencies, and service repairs
- · Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
- · Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
- · Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
- · Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- · Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- · Must have good customer-facing and customer service skills
