The Impact:
Be an integral part of growing S&P’s market share in Hong Kong by identifying new business opportunities and building client relationships. Given the rising demand for data, research, insights, and analytics across the rapidly desktop and ESG universe of the region, you will be able to lead from the front and directly impact the future growth of the business.
What’s in it for you:
The role will be responsible for contributing to the growth of Investment Banking and Private Equity segment in Hong Kong, working with significant prospects across these segments. The candidate is responsible for working with the team to identify and close business in new logos and as such requires creativity, resiliency, charisma and exceptional communication & presentation skills. They will contribute to selling S&P’s complex solutions including desktop solutions, enterprise data feeds, investment research, ESG & climate analytics. Responsibilities:
• Ability to learn S&P Global Market Intelligence’s growing product suite quickly and be able to present core products to clients
• Assist in business development initiatives - market and industry research, creation of outreach strategies including self-hosted campaigns, identification of sales opportunities and relevant conferences /events, conducting exploratory conversations with potential customers and executing on a growth strategy with the team
• Work closely with prospective clients to deliver product demos / trainings, assist with client queries and feedback
• Help build and maintain strong client relationships
• Entrepreneurial mindset; demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and sense of urgency
• Proactively assess and address user needs in order to deliver exceptional client experience.
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities for S&P Global Market Intelligence services
• Keeping up to date with key industry news and events involving clients and prospects alike, macro/ market and keeping abreast of our competitive landscape and sharing insights with the team regularly
Basic Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor degree holder in Finance, Economics or related working experience is preferred
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience – direct sales or work experience in the Capital Markets / Financial Institutions segment is preferable
• Solid knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets overall
• Strong network of contacts within the field
• Confidence in cold calling and developing relationships with C-Level executives
• Strong communication, organization, presentation and negotiating skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset; demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and sense of urgency
• Work effectively in a team-based environment as well as independently
• Fluent in oral and written English and Chinese
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office
