Working within the scrum team, design and implement new features and services as prioritised by the Product Owner.
Guide the team in technical decisions
This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to make an active contribution to development
Maintain a high level of quality in your output and test your own work before passing to QA for verification.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging technologies relevant to the role
Communicate and escalate issues in a clear and timely manner
Required Education and Skills
BS in computer science or related STEM field
10+ years of experience in Software development of complex applications.
Proven track record designing and implementing performant, resilient and scalable SaaS applications following microservice architecture in real world scenarios
Extensive Java development experience using a variety of frameworks and third party dependencies such as Spring Boot
Experience with Cloud platform technologies and infrastructure: Azure and/or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
Familiarity with build pipeline tools and technologies such as: Jenkins, Gitlab, Gradle
Experience writing unit tests
Working in an Agile development environment and actively contributing to Sprint planning and other ceremonies
Must be self-motivated but needs to work well in a team environment
Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and 7 years of related experience or through 11 years of software development experience. Completion of a master’s in computer science or similar discipline is preferred
MS, PhD in computer science or related STEM field
Any fluency in additional programming languages and fameworks such as Python, C#, C++ would be an advantage.
Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure Docker containers, Kubernetes, DataBricks
Data modeling and database design experience
Knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks and packages
Any UI experience such as Angular, React, protobuf, grpc, ASP.NET
Strong preference for prior experience building petrotechnical and real-time acquisition software in the O&G industry
