You will be joining the BI Platform team at Omio. BI Platform team is responsible for maintaining the data platform and engineering systems for business intelligence, analytics and data science with a vision of making Omio a truly data driven organization. Your role will include:

  • Acting as product-owner for the BI platform and work closely with the product/analytics teams at Omio on a product roadmap for BI platform.
  • Being the interface between the product/analytics teams and the BI platform team.
  • Bringing a systems thinking mindset to data engineering and analytics and work towards long living analytical systems instead of ad-hoc analysis.
  • Leading data modeling activities and definition of technical and business metrics.
  • Participating in the improvement and extension of the core data warehouse.
  • Building analytical solutions on the top of the core data warehouse.
  • Driving data quality monitoring, assessment and improvement.
  • Providing strategic inputs on the development of BI platform and BI data as a product.
  • Learning and adapting in a software engineering oriented environment.
What you bring to the table
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in related roles (e.g. Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Visualization Expert, Data Engineer), preferably in the e-commerce sector.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • Solid knowledge in data modeling (e.g. normalized/denormalized, star/snowflake, Data Vault)
  • Knowledge in web and app tracking (e.g. Google Analytics, Snowplow, Adjust, Mixpanel)
  • Experience in reporting and visualization (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, Metabase, Microsoft SSRS)
  • SQL (any dialect)
  • Knowledge of Python core and packages for data analytics (e.g. pandas, matplotlib, numpy)
  • Experience in environments that dealt with large data volumes (BigData) and distributed data processing
Nice to have
  • Experience with big-data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery, Impala, Redshift, Hive)
  • Experience with Hadoop and distributed data processing engines (e.g. Apache Spark, Apache Flink)
  • Experience with real-time, event driven data pipelines
  • Experience with workflow management systems (e.g. Apache Airflow, Luigi, Mara, Oozie)
  • Experience in data extraction (e.g. APIs, Databases) and integration
  • Knowledge of applied machine learning (e.g. recommendation systems)
  • Experience in Java or Scala programming
