Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. Position Description:


Listed Sales and Trading technology team is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high performance global electronic trading systems for Morgan Stanley. Our systems are used to capture electronic orders, route orders to various execution venues globally, handle complex trading workflow, perform risk and regulatory checks, manage order states and executions in real-time.


The role is for a server developer primarily using C++, Python, and Java for new development of our electronic trading systems. Candidate will be working with more experienced developers to learn and understand system architecture, technical designs and business requirements with opportunities to take on ownership of system components and interact with business team directly overtime. We use software to drive variety of tasks from development, testing of the systems, to deployment, and data analysis. We aim to automate all manual repetitive tasks in our development process.




- Join/lead scrum calls with smaller team of developers working on the project
- Analyze/design new requirements/enhancement to the systems with peers
- Perform historical data analysis as a part of new requirements/enhancement
- Discuss requirement with senior managers, business users, or risk officers
- Present/demo system designs/features to users
- Coding of new requirements/enhancement and test suites
- Perform/submit code review for peer reviewing
- Troubleshoot system regression issue from continuous build results
- Deploy released code and setup to test environment and production
- Development of new tools for improvement of automation on deployment/testing process 

Skills required:


- Enthusiastic developer with top-notch programming skills (minimum 5 years) with C++, Python on Linux platform.
- Passion for technology and automation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. The nature of work in the team is collaborative, and we are looking for people who can be effective in small working groups, while still be able to communicate and work well with colleagues from across the globe.
- Strong analytical skills, our day-to-day work includes data-driven design, analysis and troubleshooting.


Skills desired:

- Java
- Interests in financial service technologies and business especially in real-time trading systems.

Knowledge of French and English is required.
