Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility, Inc. is seeking an experienced Business Operations Controller for our Customer Service Business Unit. In this role, you will be planning, controlling, accounting, and reporting activities for the Operations side of the Customer Service Business unit with focus on factory management & supply chain management, including production, inventory management, logistics, materials management, warehouse, and strategic procurement. This role can be based in Sacramento, CA or Remote with intent to relocate to Lexington, NC.
You will develop and implement a strategic inventory management framework in collaboration with function heads, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize stock levels, improve inventory turns while following contractual obligations, avoid penalties, and minimize non-conformance costs. Be responsible for financial aspects of warehouse and logistics processes, including control systems, compliance with financial regulations, and effective capital and costs allocation.
The Business Operations Controller will also provide factory controlling oversight and support to ensure effective financial management and cost control within the manufacturing operations. Collaborating with the factory management team to monitor and analyze key financial indicators, including production costs, labor utilization, material expenses, and overhead allocation. Implementing strategies to optimize cost-efficiency, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive profitability in the factory operations. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal control processes. Develop and improve reporting mechanisms to provide transparent and accurate financial information for decision-making. Partner with the factory management team to drive operational improvements, streamline processes, and enhance overall factory performance.
What your day-to-day will look like:
• Increase of transparency about strategic and tactical Procurement activities and occurrences within assigned area of responsibility to assist and support business challenges and processes on functional level.
• Optimizes the Capital Allocation with a focus on minimizing Working Capital.
• Lead and develop a team of two, providing mentorship, support, and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement in the areas of inventory management, factory control, financial control, and warehouse processes.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with various teams, departments, and customers to agree on goals, address challenges, eliminating barriers and driving maturity across departments and business lines.
• Drive Digitalization and Data reliability initiatives within the responsibility areas to increase efficiency, identify areas of opportunity and improved performance
• Co-lead with Strategic Procurement all cost savings initiatives and vendor claims processes and reporting into OPW (One Puma Web).
• Ensure accurate inventory records to ensure reliable custody of assets by driving cycle count program and leading Annual Physical Inventory in Siemens North America.
To thrive in this role, you have:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related Business degree. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a combination of education and Siemens relevant work experience will be considered,
• 5+ years of experience, preferably in factory environment, strategic procurement, inventory management, and/or warehouse environment,
• Experience managing cost centers and balance sheets,
• Experience managing a team,
• Strongly demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations based advanced root cause and alternative solution analysis,
• Excellently demonstrated commercial, verbal, and written communication skills; must be able to demonstrate presentation skills and adjust communication,
• Ability to understand and articulate information to multiple stakeholders in a fast paced and often dynamic work environment,
• Ability to work well under pressure and tight timeliness,
• Ability to travel: 25%.
• Setting you apart from others would be a Master's degree in accounting and/or finance with factory or supply chain Controller experience as well as working in a commercial function with project execution experience.

The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA is $128,730-$211,500, North Carolina is $117,040 - $192,200 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
