Position Overview
Siemens Logistics is seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Buyer for our state of the art Airport Logistics business. This position performs various procurement activities in order to provide our manufactured and third party products to our site O&M teams as well as end user customers. In this role you will be based in our Irving office collaborating with customer service, engineering and site O&M managers in the support of spare parts and product sales. The work location is flexible with a mixture between working in the Irving office and working from home.

What you will do:
- Responsible for all activities in the preparation of placing orders spare parts from researching the requirements, RFQ generation, vendor selection and issuance of purchase orders

- Additional responsibilities may include:

·         negotiating best value with suppliers

·         creation/validation of purchase order supporting documentation

·         communications with suppliers regarding delivery status

·         coordinating and tracking of shipments to their designated delivery locations

·         work closely with suppliers and projects sites to ensure goods receipts are accurate and timely

·         reconciliation of invoice discrepancies

·         work as a customer service member team member to fulfill customer requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·         Highly self-motivated individual who requires and prefers little guidance

·         Eagerness to learn new skills

·         Adaptability to a fast paced and changing business environment

·         Excellent communications skills, including the ability to provide data in a concise and appropriate detail

·         Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications

·         BS/BA in related discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
-      Knowledge of SAP is a plus
-      Strong computer skills with expert knowledge of Excel is a plus

-          Previous experience working in a manufacturing/warehousing type of operation
