We are looking for a -Business Application Expert who will focus on our Governance Risk and Compliance application tool “Keylight” to join our already skilled team of experts. You’ll be a trusted member of a high energy, tight-knit, creative IT Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) team. As a member of the team you will utilize your expert functional/technical area knowledge of Keylight or other GRC platforms and/or dynamic databases to define, evaluate, and validate requirements, business functional design, and technical design for varied business issues in which our GRC application can add value. You will act as a liaison representing our department and its processes to ensure the development and implementation of comprehensive, efficient technical solutions while minimizing operational and system/application impacts. You will be expected to proactively consult with the business, IT and/or relevant vendors and ascertain system/application considerations needed for larger, more complex problems, corporate projects or for overall system/application assessments. Responsibilities Include:

Technical Support/Business Expertise

  • Provide advanced business acumen and technical knowledge to support proactive technical solutioning for complex and varied business issues, while considering broader impacts of technical decisions to the business environment.
  • Provide on-going maintenance, governance and support for existing use cases as applicable.
  • Independently facilitate discussions with business areas to review, analyze, and develop solutions for critical business systems/applications.
  • Identify and quantify the business impact of identified solutions and make appropriate recommendations to the business area supported.
  • Coordinate ongoing user support for more advanced and/or complex ad hoc questions, inquiries, and service requests.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct more advanced data and trend analysis and proactively consult with and provide feedback to business areas and IT in order to enhance system/application performance
  • Mentor and coach less senior staff members to increase system/application knowledge and enhance business consulting abilities on the team as a whole.

Issue Resolution

  • Facilitate the resolution of larger, highly complex production system/application problems by:
  • Performing initial triage for severity and business impact of system/application failures.
  • Troubleshooting and analyzing to determine root cause of issues
  • Developing applicable business processes and solutions to ensure quality, cost effectiveness, timeliness of customer service, and regulatory requirements and mandates are met.
  • Coordinating with IT, other teams and vendors as needed to devise, test and implement immediate and long term remedies.
  • Lead the development of system support processes with IT; coordinate daily to resolve production support issues, including application failures and user errors; document, track and report all system support activities

Project/Program Support

  • Facilitate discussions with the business and IT on projects and initiatives to elicit and document business requirements and prepare appropriate functional specifications while considering technical capabilities of the system/application and ensuring an integrated approach is used.
  • Act as Business Lead/Coordinator on large or complex corporate projects or initiatives. 
  • Facilitate project intake, including scheduling of projects.
  • Review and approve technical specifications
  • Coordinates with IT on implementation and post implementation support

Business Testing

  • Provide consulting support for the business and IT in the following activities:
  • Coordination and development of test plans
  • Serve as point of contact for business testing activities and influence testing strategy to ensure testing will appropriately meet business requirements
  • Develop, document and may, in some cases, execute test plans and scenarios
  • Analyze and verify results for accuracy, relevance and completeness.
  • Provide impact assessments and make recommendations to the business owner regarding issues, risks, etc. 
  • Train/coach others on appropriate testing protocol, execution and test plan creation. 

System Configuration

  • Perform configuration and maintenance of system tables and data elements within Keylight to implement use cases in support of business goals
  • Analyze, develop, and implement more complex configuration changes to improve system performance and user efficiency

Hiring Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with 5 years of direct application/systems analysis experience with applicable business system or application
  • If no degree, 7 years experience as stated above. 
  • This experience must include some of the following:
  • Direct experience facilitating the resolution of large, complex production system problems.
  • Direct experience with proactive development of business processes and solutions
  • Direct experience with complex and critical system/application configuration
  • Direct experience with effective and successful project coordination/project management is required.
  • Some consultative background to effectively communicate business issues and recommended solutions to a wide audience
    • Excellent technical abilities, both breadth and depth, in related applications/systems.
    • Direct experience with automated tools to perform analysis and reporting (i.e. Business Objects, query writing) is required.
    • Visual Design tools knowledge/skills required.

Hiring Preferences

  • Familiarity with health care industry is preferred
  • Experience consulting with senior leaders preferred.
  • Strong facilitation skills that include workgroup leadership and/or problem resolution across multiple groups.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply complex technical specifications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret and present quantitative data.
