Responsibilities:
Keep the customer-facing services available at top performance by maintaining the constant health of the supporting Kubernetes infrastructure.
Support and maintain a large-scale, multi-tenant, Kubernetes platform
Design, build, and maintain fault-tolerant, scalable Kubernetes clusters on-demand
Automate detection and resolution of recurring issues in a large multi-region production environment
Collaborate closely with teammates and members of partner engineering teams to develop and foster solid engineering principles and represent our engineering values
Tackle challenges around user experience, scale, security, analytics, and cross-platform portability
Work in a fast-paced Agile software development environment.
Experience:
Use of Agile ceremonies/practices (Scrum and/or Kanban)
Working environment requiring balance of customer support/pager rotation + high priority project work deliverables
Design, implementation, and usage of monitoring tools for applications and infrastructure such as Grafana, Prometheus, collectd, etc
Writing and maintaining tools and services in Go, Python, Bash; as well as Configuration Management tools like Puppet, Helm, Ansible or Chef
Building and operationalizing business critical systems or platforms in Public Cloud infrastructure environments using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi
Production environment 24x7 on-call, troubleshooting incidents in a complex distributed systems environment
3-5 years experience in remotely deploying, accessing, troubleshooting, and patching Linux-based systems
Required Skills:

Familiarity with Public Cloud and supporting systems deployment, configuration management and application installations within the AWS (EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, EC2, SQS ), GCP and/or Azure core services
Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals, including cluster components, security practices, upgrades/patching, troubleshooting, and application deployment/administration
Familiarity with containerized application environment and CICD pipeline tools and concepts for deploying applications
Proficient in networking concepts such as routing, load balancing, firewall rules, etc.
Skilled in command-line interface (CLI) operations, shell scripting, and system administration
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and collaboratively across teams when needed
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for documentation purposes

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $146,600 to $258,700.For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $133,400 to $215,600.For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $133,400 to $237,200.For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $146,600 to $258,700.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
