Director, Market Access & Pricing – Plastics & Regenerative Medicine

Location: Irvine, CA or Branchburg, NJ

 

The Director of Market Access and Pricing – Plastics & Regenerative Medicine (PRM) leads the market access strategies and planning for the pipeline products in our PRM franchise.

This role will leverage clinical understanding and expertise of Evidence Based Medicine, alongside deep U.S. payer knowledge, and competitive insights to shape development programs for pre-launch assets in preparation for launch in order to maximize access for patients.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building the overall price, reimbursement and access (PRA) strategy across this broad area; covering multiple pharmaceutical products and medical devices at various stages of development, and across multiple disease areas within the Plastic Surgery & Regenerative Medicine spaces
  • As a new position, working cross-functionally to build the objectives, prioritization, and strategic approach for access in PRM
  • Partnering with AbbVie’s other market access teams, as well as cross-functionally with HEOR, clinical development, policy, upstream and downstream marketing teams to understand and evaluate the opportunities, in order to build robust strategies
  • Supporting efforts to integrate payer value messages into our pre-clinical, clinical and evidence-base assessments and develop key market access deliverables in line with the broader asset and franchise strategies
  • Ensuring endpoints (clinical, economic, humanistic) are integrated into in clinical development programs that will optimize patient access, pricing and reimbursement
  • Leading Value and Access team(s) to create strategies and tactics to ensure launch readiness for these assets
  • Mobilizing the organization, when appropriate, to ensure Global and market-level implementation of the PRA strategy


Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree within a relevant course of study
  • 5 or more years of pricing and market access experience
  • Combination of experience in both market access for both pharmaceuticals and medical devices

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in developing and managing market access strategies globally
  • Experience in evaluating payer trends and drivers of market access success
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. pricing policy & regulations and healthcare systems
  • Expertise in market access and reimbursement within hospitals/ASCs for medical devices and pharmaceutical products
    • Robust understanding of U.S. regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval, and the impact on reimbursement decisions
    • Working knowledge of health economic modelling
    • Experience developing market access capabilities and mindsets within an organization
    • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functionally with partners outside of the team to enable higher performance
    • Collaborative approach, embracing creativity and ideas of others to nurture innovation and translate into reality
    • Fast learner with an ability to quickly adapt to develop optimal strategies

    Ability to travel up to 15%, including overnight stays

Minimum Salary $145,000
Maximum Salary $275,500
