The Microsoft Surface Team is looking for CAD Engineers experienced with the Cadence Allegro PCB Editor to aid in the development of next generation Surface products. An Ideal candidate should have recent hands on layout experience in PC and Tablet Motherboards, along with reduced form factor HDI Consumer Electronic Designs. This position involves working closely with a cross functional team of electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, test engineers, CAD engineers, component engineers, manufacturing engineers, and program managers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Creation and enhancement of multilayer HDI Designs using High Speed Design rules.
Component placement and routing of Rigid HDI Designs and FPC’s.
Generate all Fab and Assembly Packages (ODB++ or RS274X).
Interface with EE and ME staff for design development and solving board level related issues.
Work in a collaborative environment and lead a team multiple of PCB designers to complete a design using Cadence Allegro Team Design Option or Cadence Allegro Symphony Design.
Proficient in Cadence Allegro PCB Editor and Constraint Management using Signal Explorer.
Experience with Analog design layout techniques.
Experience with RF design layout techniques.
Experience with Switch Mode Power Supply layout techniques.
Knowledgeable of Impedance Control and Transmission Line Theory.
Excellent organization and communications skills.
Ability to work well with a diverse group of dedicated professionals.
Experience with Downstream BluePrint and CAM350 is a plus.
Proficient with standard Microsoft Office tool set.
Bachelor / Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (15 years of relevant experience)
Minimum 5 Years of experience performing PCB Design using Cadence Allegro PCB Editor.
Minimum 3 Years of experience in HDI Design for High Volume Manufacturing.
