We’re looking for a self-driven, innovative, and collaborative research scientist to join our team to explore how visualization and other interactive techniques can help people in understanding data, building and interpreting machine learning models, and communicating insights to others.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will
collaborate with top-notch scientists, engineers, and business groups:Identify and formalize key research problems in information visualization and interactive data analysis and communication
Work with vertical domains and other business groups on understanding how data is used throughout the lifecycle of a company and assist in the creation of both internal and external applications
Propose novel approaches for unsolved research problems
Design and implement state-of-the-art systems
Conduct rapid experimentation and deep engagement for real-world delivery and impact basic research
Qualifications
Ph.D. in CS or related field
Passionate about real-world applications and impact
Track record of publications in top journals and conferences including SIGCHI, UIST, Infovis Conference, VAST Conference, EuroVis, SIGMOD, VLDB, ICSE
Experience with creating or building data visualizations, Javascript, D3 and other associated frameworks
Experience with ML, statistics, large datasets, databases, computer graphics
Proficiency in data science tools, techniques and languages including Python, or R, C#, Java
Value add: experience with deep learning platforms such as CNTK, Tensor Flow; 2D and 3D graphics experience
Keen awareness and ability to stay abreast of technical and scientific trends
Highly effective communication and collaboration across internal and external teams with demonstrated success building strong relationships and delivering results in cross-group projects
Track record of high-quality, self-directed, timely execution, and attention to detail
