Description

Joining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.

Primary Function of Position:

The Contracts Manager/Construction & Real Estate will work closely with the Director, Indirect Purchasing and Sr. Director Real Estate and Construction to drive execution, and elevate the level of commercial and legal expertise around tendering and contracting for construction, real estate, and related facilities’ expansion agreements.

The Contracts Manager/Construction & Real Estate negotiates contractual terms and conditions with architects, builders, materials suppliers, real estate professionals/brokers, contractors and other suppliers/partners to ensure company and legal compliance in the procurement of Intuitive’s products and services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Build strong relationships with key partners primarily Real Estate and Construction, Legal and Finance.
• Drive contract management process that is focused on efficiencies while mitigating risk.
• Negotiate favorable terms and business practices for ISI.
• Consult and advise on key points of law and commercial best practice.
• Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts that establish business relationships with suppliers along with scheduling, budgeting, fulfilling regulatory guidelines, submitting claims, terminations as needed.
• Analyze contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, government regulations, applicable laws, and other requirements.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• JD in Construction or related field, CA Bar
• 8-10 years prior experience as a manager and negotiating contracts
• Demonstrated success with supplier and commercial agreements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convince/persuade top management
• Self-starter with the ability and energy to shape a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
