Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative or business field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience working as an analyst or in an analytical role.
  • Experience in database queries using SQL languages and Tableau and/or R.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or MS degree in a quantitative field.
  • Experience in measuring marketing success and identifying opportunities for improving marketing.
  • Experience working with multiple large datasets and the ability to pull from such datasets using relevant programs and coding.
  • Understanding of qualitative and quantitative consumer research.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, combined with impeccable business acumen. Effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present complicated data findings in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Excellent data visualization skills.

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

The Marketing Analytics team is a group of analysts and consumer researchers working within Marketing to shape and deliver marketing insights to drive better decision.

In this role, you’ll work in close partnership with various internal stakeholders, both cross-functionally and across B2C marketing teams to pinpoint and consistently improve the key drivers of customer engagement. Ultimately, you’ll leverage the deep data analytics and customer insights that you uncover to help bring strategies to life that unlock the potential of marketing at Google. You will be focused on the details while finding ways to address big picture challenges and present your recommendations to senior marketing and product leadership to make data driven decisions.

  • Set analytics priorities in key marketing initiatives. Translate business questions into appropriate analytical projects that will inform strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Deep dive into complex internal product dataset, syndicated data and consumer survey results. Identify and communicate insights to senior management and cross functional stakeholders for better decision making, including, but not limited to, new marketing program design, campaign optimization, resource allocation, and partnership priorities.
  • Establish success metrics and measurement plans that explain the incremental impact of marketing campaigns.
  • Operate seamlessly between being a business-savvy internal consultant and a highly technical business intelligence analyst. Develop data warehousing and reporting solutions to share key consumer insights with global stakeholders.
  • Manage external agencies to deliver analytical solutions and consumer research. Review, oversee and integrate agencies’ outputs to meet Google standards.
