The Role: Sr. Software Engineer, Application Operations (Pega)

The Location: Hyderabad - Orion

The Team: Workflow Operations is a team within S&P Global Ratings Technology that supports Pega based workflow applications to enable analysts to take complex decisions and provide unified experience to accurate ratings and publishing them to issuers. We support Improving user experience with bringing in automation to reduce manual operations and maximize digitization are aspects of Workflow team in providing Support to Pega based solutions, resolve issues and provide complex rating workflow solutions.

The Impact: As a Sr. Software Developer at S&P Global, you will be involved in supporting and resolving the issues reported by our analysts across the globe and also will be supporting the workflow apps from Infrastructure perspective. These applications are the backbone of the Organization and monitor and act accordingly.

  • Deliver business value by working closely with development, dependent teams and strive towards betterment by working in production support role (advanced/lead level) with a great deal of troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills. Responsibilities also include;
  • In depth Functional knowledge of the application(s) supported and interdependencies.
  • Ensures all production changes are addressed to user and Scrum teams and are done in accordance with life-cycle methodology and risk guidelines.
  • Experience in assessing change impacts and providing effort estimates.
  • Interface with Developers, users, business analysts, quality assurance teams and other teams as needed.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility with assignments. This includes owning tickets and bringing them to resolution, understanding requirements, technical specifications, design, architecture, implementation, unit testing, builds/deployments, and code management.
  • Collaborate with team members across the globe.
  • Should independently drive and execute complex technical issues.
  • Be a self-starter and an excellent team player.
  • Follow agile best practices including Kanban. Experienced in working with global teams, leading Scrums.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Have strong skillet in working on Technical issues and writing and understanding Code in Pega and also should possess skills in Infrastructure.
  • Good hands on implementation and understanding on PEGA integration services using REST, SOAP, Email etc. Good understanding of PEGA case management features.
  • Ability to interact with business analysts and business team members to refine requirements, Use Cases
  • Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing
  • Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions when required
  • Liaise well with BA, Users, PO, PM’s and Scrum teams and Participate in an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases.
  • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
  • Mentor and guide the team members on Pega applications.
  • Experience with troubleshooting Production log files and performance issues
  • Contributes to the delivery of new applications and to the maintenance and enhancement of existing applications with shared responsibility for the technical issues with Dev team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be Pega Certified System Architect (CSA) and Systems Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA).
  • 5 -8 Years of Experience on Pega PRPC (7.x versions) and Frameworks.
  • Experience with Java, J2EE basics, App Server Integration, configuration and tuning and Case Management
  • In-depth knowledge of Pega Upgrades, Integration, Performance Management and have good knowledge of troubleshooting skills on Pega Applications.
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with the internal and external teams and architects.
  • Additional stack of applications knowledge like Java is an added advantage.
  • Advanced Oracle SQL/PLSQL knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Ability to negotiate and allocate resources appropriately for development and implementation.
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience.
