Summary:
A Product Owner works with development teams to build software systems in an agile way. The Product Owner draws on critical thinking and a passion for creating reliable and maintainable systems to deliver incremental capability value. Some responsibilities are crafting stories and acceptance criteria, maintaining and prioritizing backlogs, making trade-offs with competing priorities, and reviewing stories for approval prior to production release. This role is ideal for someone who is always open to new challenges, looks for innovative, creative, self-directed ways to get the job done. A successful PO will collaborate effectively within their Scrum Team, with other Product Owners, and with the Capability Owners and Product Managers they enable.
Responsibilities:
· Analyse the stakeholders; determine their needs; manage their expectations
· Be able to model business processes (creating context, workflow, status diagrams)
· Elicit, analyse and document the requirements and acceptance criteria (business, stakeholder, functional and non-functional)
· Review, validate and confirm the requirements and solution through documentation and show and tells with the Product team
· Manage change requests/improvements
· Work closely with the development and testing team: Refinement sessions facilitation; day-to-day support and open questions clarification
· Assist with business testing if required
· Set up Business Analysis and Requirements Management process on the project, constantly improve the process, ensure the appropriate Agile delivery principles are embedded to the team's process
· Prioritize the requirements to ensure that the team is working on the most valued features first
· Have a holistic view on the whole system, understand business objectives/needs and plans
· Highlight the risks and dependencies which might affect the delivery and timelines
· Running of customer show & tell sessions to demonstrate completed functionality
Skills:
· Experience in the collection, formalization and translation of business requirements
· Understanding of agile / SAFe methodologies
· Experience in process modelling
· Ability to demonstrate expertise across a variety of business analysis methods
· Ability and desire to communicate in written and spoken English (Upper-intermediate/Advanced +)
· Ability to co-operate with a variety of people and achieve results
· Confident documenting and communicating requirements between teams
· Excellent time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills
· Use of JIRA application, Confluence
· Ability to write agile user stories
