Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, related quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Python, Java or C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.
  • Programming abilities and proficiency with backend (Python, Java) and frontend (Angular 2/TypeScript, JavaScript).
  • Ability to design and implement maintain highly complex systems and subsystems.
  • Demonstrated technical and project-management skills; cross-functional relationship-building skills.

Our Legal team needs more than attorneys to keep things moving. Our Legal Operations team is charged with improving and maintaining the Legal team's internal processes, systems and tools. Responsible for tracking objectives, coordinating financial planning and solving technology challenges, you are entrepreneurial, proactive and highly organized. You keep costs down, engage third-party vendors and make the Legal team's services better, faster and more efficient.

Legal Online Operations (LOPs) is at the forefront of the global efforts as outlined in Google’s Transparency Report to balance government compliance and user rights. The LOPs Web Solutions Engineering team focuses on bringing to life innovative technical solutions that help scale these efforts. Ultimately, they enable Legal Online Operations to make difficult decisions that are transparent and minimize legal risk.

The LOPs Web Solutions Engineering team delivers automation and efficiency within the Legal Online Operation’s domain. The apps, tools, services and cross-Engineering team collaborations they work on are used in resolving matters related to legal rulings and optimizing workflows between web applications, case management systems, and other services within the LOPs domain.

Responsibilities
  • Build internal tools, back-end services and web applications for the Legal Online Operations organization.
  • Write and review technical design documents, development and collaborative code reviews with an eye for best practices and scalability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineers from other departments/product areas to enhance Legal tooling applications and infrastructure.
  • Analyze, review, and modify existing applications and infrastructure to increase efficiency or improve overall testing and monitoring.
  • Apply best practices for software design, development, and maintenance on small to large sized projects of high complexity and impact.
