Job Purpose

Working within the motive power battery division of the business, the field service technician will cover a defined regional area repairing and maintaining batteries, chargers and auxiliary equipment associated with the product performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Charger repairs – fault analysis and repair of 50 Hz and Hf Chargers
  • Battery repairs – Fault analysis and repair of batteries
  • Auxiliary Equipment - Maintenance and repair of management systems/BFS systems and other associated equipment
  • Admin – Complete and submit all necessary report and paperwork comprehensively and in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Must have a City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Must have a clean driving license
  • Mechanical qualifications preferable

Knowledge / Experience

  • Knowledge of batteries and chargers for the motive power industry desirable but not essential
  • Three phase electrical systems troubleshooting and knowledge of electrical systems design
  • Experience in reading and updating electrical and controls schematics and documentation, SOP’s and VSOP’s
  • Working knowledge of high voltage distribution
  • Must be willing to travel

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Can prioritize and manage own workload in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to problem solve complex complex electrical, and controls issues
  • Must be friendly and a team player
  • Basic IT systems including Microsoft office suite, Teams and salesforce
  • Work using own initiative
  • Good verbal and written communication
