The Wealth Management (WM) Chief Data Office (CDO) sits within the WM Risk organization and strives to find the right balance between risk management and business enablement. WM CDO’s mission is to: prevent unauthorized access to or misuse of client sensitive data and assets; ensure the highest level of availability for WM’s critical business processes; and mitigate risks caused by inaccurate, untimely, or incomplete WM data.
Within CDO, the WM Divisional Data Office manages Data Quality related issues, prioritizes key processes with data quality dependencies, identifies Critical Data Elements (CDEs) underpinning prioritized processes, and applies controls to ensure CDEs meet data quality standards.
Responsibilities
The Data Quality Risk Associate will support the day-to-day execution of the WM Data Quality Risk Reduction Roadmap, primarily involving the identification of WM Critical Data Elements and associated use cases, as well as the determination of data quality control requirements across systems and use cases. This work will require end-to-end data flow analysis, assessment of data quality controls, identification of business data ownership, cataloging of this metadata into the Firmwide Data Catalog (Collibra), and executing the annual re-attestation of data and control ownership among WM Business and Technology partners. Additional responsibilities will include metrics production and reporting for the purposes of progress tracking, and updates to both the WM and Firmwide Data Quality Governance Committees.
Skills Required
- 2-3 years of experience in financial services and/or data governance
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business field with technical background or vice versa
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven track record of project execution
- Analytical skills and understanding of data flow concepts
- Sound judgment and ability to escalate project risks and issues
- Strong relationship management skills in order to successfully coordinate across various Business and Technology functions and partners
- Team player who is results oriented, self-motivated, and able to act on own initiative; able to lead and influence without direct authority
- Robust problem-solving skills and strong work ethic
- Experience in data analysis and report building using Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering concepts, processes and procedures
- Experience with data catalog system (e.g. Collibra)
