Job Purpose
We are currently looking for an experienced and knowledgeable EMEA Trade Compliance Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and auditing the regional trade compliance program while providing guidance to the business to ensure compliance with all applicable procedures, trade laws and regulations. The position is a hybrid role available at our plants in Arras France.
The EMEA Trade Compliance Manager will serve as the subject matter expert in country-of-origin determinations, product classification, and free trade agreements. This position will report to our Director Global Trade Compliance within the Legal Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for development, implementation, and operationalization of regional trade compliance program including training, awareness, advisory, policies and procedures, and monitoring.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in Harmonized System (HS) classification, country of origin determinations, and customs valuation for the EMEA region.
- Maintain and ensure regional data integrity with regards to customs documentation, product classification, country of origin, BTI, Free Trade Agreement eligibility, and valuation.
- Conduct or support internal and external audits and risk assessments of the regional import/export compliance program as well as oversight of corrective action plans.
- Keep up to date with changes in laws and regulations related to international trade, assess the impact on the company, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Manage relationships with customs brokers, maintain government registrations, and represent the company in discussions with local customs authorities.
- Partner with cross functional teams across the company globally, to ensure compliance, mitigate risk and avoid disruption to our supply chain operations.
- Engage with trade compliance consultants to support business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to digitalize the trade compliance function, leveraging software tools to automate processes and ensure accurate record keeping.
- General familiarity with APAC, Americas, and other global trade compliance regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field or an equivalent qualification.
- At least two (2) to five (5) years of experience in international trade (import / export) at a global manufacturing company including experience in a compliance related function.
- Position requires candidate to be in office, a minimum two (2) days a week, at an EnerSys manufacturing plant in Arras France.
- Must be willing to travel internationally.

- SAP knowledge and user experience is a plus.
