Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Software Engineers to join our team supporting our FROST program. This position will be based in Colorado Springs, Colorado at Schriever AFB.
This role will support an operational program environment by developing new capabilities, troubleshooting/ resolving problems, and supporting real-time satellite launch events in a dynamic operational environment. This is an opportunity to maintain and evolve a satellite ground system in support of Mission Applications and Graphical User Interface (GUI) development and Database interactions. This is a position in which one can work at an operational customer facility in a dynamic environment where one can directly impact the success of an important mission.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

All facets of the software design, development, and integration life cycle for software and database changes identified by program personnel. This includes analysis of change requests and requirements for new software support capabilities; software, COTS/GOTS integration; and implementation of software using Java, C/C++, Python scripts, SQL and NoSQL database applications, and other programming tools.

Resolve technically challenging issues and proactively evolve system requirements.

Support rehearsals and day-of-launch activities.
This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.

Basic Qualifications

Level 2:

2 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor’s degree; 0 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters’s degree; An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required with additional experience)

Level 3:

5 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor’s degree; 3 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters’s degree; 0 Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD; An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required with additional experience)

Must have an Active TS/SCI DoD security clearance AND an adjudicated Polygraph at time of application

Experience designing and implementing software applications in the Java programming language
Preferred Qualifications

STEM degree

Experience developing with Spring Boot framework and associated services. Experience developing on JavaScript framework (Angular, React, Vue, etc.). Experience using NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).

Experience with mentoring junior engineers on an agile development team.

Experience withstanding up / configuring continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Experience using distributed version control system, such as git.

Experience working in an agile development environment.

Understanding of agile terminology, methodology, and lifecycle.

Experience developing Java applications with the Spring application framework.
-
Knowledge of Microservices architecture style.

Experience using Splunk log aggregation and monitoring tool.
-
Basic understanding of relational databases and structured query language (SQL) syntax.

Experience with space command and control operations and concepts. Knowledge of satellite ground system concepts.

Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and basic services.

Experience with Apache Camel messaging service.

Experience with JBoss Enterprise Application Platform hosting, configuration, and deployment.

Experience with Oracle Database management and sustainment.

Salary Range: $79,300 - $118,900
Salary Range 2: $97,500 - $146,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
