Meta’s Global Operations team exists to help them.The IP Operations team drives our strategic and program investments to enhance and advance mitigation against violations of Meta’s IP policies and procedures. We are responsible for upholding protection of IP on Meta’s platform, tackling complex legal issues through product-driven and programmatic strategy, and navigating the changing landscape on the Internet. We are constantly balancing mitigating legal risk with making the world more open and connected while scaling our operations to support Meta’s 3 billion users and the broader rights holder and regulatory community.Meta is looking for a strong operational leader who will be responsible for leading a team of workflow experts within our global Intellectual Property (IP) Operations team. Successful candidates have a passion for understanding the “why” behind complex problems. They have a demonstrated risk or relevant operational background, ability to leverage data and technical expertise to make data driven decisions to mitigate risk, as well as ability to succinctly communicate complex risks to leadership. In this position, you will interface with internal teams such as Legal, Product, Engineering, Policy and other Meta teams, as well as with external rights holders and brands to protect their IP. You will set goals and priorities for key program investments to increase efficiency and improve operational processes and maturity. You will address new and emerging risks, and bring a product-driven mindset to balancing legal and regulatory obligations. A strong candidate will be highly effective at global and cross-functional leadership, setting vision and influencing strategy, and ensuring strong workflow health and operational excellence.

Global Manager, IP Operations Responsibilities:
  • Lead a group of individual contributors to to deliver on efficient IP reporting, innovative risk mitigation, and operational health, including covering business and legal escalations.
  • Create and maintain a culture of operational excellence and efficiency that inspires teams to do their best work.
  • Develop the team by providing mentorship, coaching and career guidance.
  • Act as a the point of contact for your team and support them in removing roadblocks.
  • Act as a thought leader to internal teams, securing alignment across goals and resources.
  • Shape the vision of the team, by charting the path towards a less friction full environment, setting goals, measuring progress + sharing results.
  • Drive and enable strategies and roadmaps for prioritized operational investments and align to broader organizational goals across our global IP program.
  • Develop, lead, and influence solutions to optimize operational processes that reduce IP violations and improve quality and efficiency in supporting reports from rights holders, working closely with key cross-functional partners, including Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy.
  • Identify issues before they happen and has good instincts for how to manage across a heavily matrixed organization.
  • Expertly negotiate, assess, and communicate trade-offs for operational decisions with the broader cross-functional team to optimize processes and increase maturity.
  • Understand Meta’s strategic, legal and compliance position and deliver outcomes that are aligned with our mission and recognized best in the industry.
  • This role may require escalations outside of normal business hours.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience working in consulting, strategy, operations, or risk roles at a large scale organization.
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience, including managing multiple levels of individual contributors.
  • Experience with operational metrics and identifying performance issues.
  • Experience communicating effectively via various formats, timezones and audiences, and reaching resolutions across both technical and non-technical audiences, including key stakeholders and senior/executive leadership.
  • Effective critical thinking and experience leveraging data to anticipate and unblock problems and drive solutions.
  • Proven time-management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with engineering teams to develop and improve operational systems and tools.
  • Experience driving collaboration of cross-functional teams, coordinating effectively, and inspiring others.
  • Experience resolving conflicts by finding win-win scenarios, identifying tradeoffs, and setting clear priorities.
  • Experience in controlling risk and setting priorities.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience & expertise working in IP, legal/compliance areas, or trust and safety roles.
  • Data skills and reporting experiences with demonstrated skill in using data to communicate impact.
  • Experience resolving and communicating about issues with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience influencing across functional organizations and/or teams with varying priorities or business goals.
  • Experience working across global regions.

$146,000/year to $203,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
