This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a significant role in the firmwide legal entity model risk framework team, reporting into the Global Model Risk Management (MRM) function within Citi. Responsibilities associated with the role include:

  • Ongoing review of the regulatory landscape pertaining to model risk, assessment of compliance and, where required, design and execution of remediation plans

  • Oversight of LE-specific Model Risk Procedures

  • Primary 2nd line of defence (2LoD) lead, and partner with 1st line of defence, on model use identification, ranking of critical models and attestations.

  • Independent review and challenge of LE-specific model risk appetite frameworks and key risk indicators (KRI)

  • Preparation of model risk reporting materials for LE-specific executive and governance committees

  • Oversight of intercompany services pertaining to 2LoD model risk management activities

What we’ll need from you:

  • 6-10 years’ experience across risk management, risk governance or regulatory-based roles within financial services

  • Excellent knowledge of model risk guidance from international regulators (e.g. SR 11-07, SS 1/23)

  • Excellent communication skills to concisely guide, influence and negotiate internally across all lines of defence, and with auditors and regulatory authorities.

  • Proven ability in cross-functional project and stakeholder management, solving complex problems and the implementation of process improvement initiatives

  • Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Ability to drive innovation via thought leadership while maintaining end-to-end view

  • Intellectual curiosity to stay abreast of regulatory and industry advances

  • Proficient with MS Office suite

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
