Bigpark is looking for a product designer with strength in all stages of the product cycle. You are able to drive from ideation to completion. In this role, you’ll exercise design craftsmanship and problem-solving skills while working collaboratively with program managers, engineers, data scientists, and other designers to create user experiences for both consumer and business customers. The ideal candidate can zoom between big-picture focus and detailed design.

 

Bigpark, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, is part of the Office Media Group inside the Experiences + Devices division. We have a history of creating showcase experiences for Microsoft Office, Windows and Xbox. We are a diverse team of developers, creatives, data scientists and program managers delivering a full spectrum of software and services from incubation and envisioning right through to software development, customer delivery and service operations.

You’ll have the opportunity to make product decisions, construct UX solutions, and define our end-to-end user experience. 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be customer-driven, driving user needs and goals into both creative and pragmatic design solutions. They will be experienced in the application of user-centered philosophies and interaction design best practices. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to execute design work with a high standard for quality within time and technical constraints amid competing priorities and ambiguous situations. As a senior designer, you will also be an advocate for the value of design excellence across disciplines.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Visual Communication Design or related area is required.  A combination of education and experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Professional work experience in interaction design.
  • Ability to document user experience and interactivity through briefs, wireframes, flowcharts, screenshots, design specifications, design frameworks and demos.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate designs in words and images.
  • Ability to present designs to a wide-variety of audiences including senior leadership
  • Strong problem solving, creative, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organization skills and an attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated (needs minimal direction), and excited to build products working with business and technical disciplines.
