We are looking for a strong, pragmatic business thinker with seasoned field marketing experience to lead the Central Marketing Organization (CMO) in Austria.

The Central Marketing Organization (CMO) leads integrated marketing excellence in planning and execution across commercial Solution Areas and Marketing engines to drive business outcomes. With integrated marketing excellence, events & digital marketing expertise, and data-driven insights, CMO delivers quality customer and partner experiences at scale to maximize marketing impact across our connected customer journeys in alignment with global strategies and local business priorities. CMO embraces and promotes Global Demand Center (GDC) and Global Engagement Program (GEP) alignment and drives marketing governance with Sales (Managed Accounts), Solution Areas (BGs), Communications (PR), and alignment with OCP. As the leader of the Central Marketing Organization, you are responsible for leading and successfully landing Field Marketing in Austria. With strong executive support, you lead and orchestrate a multi-dimensional, cross-functional marketing team of integrated marketers, inclusive of marketing communications, experiential and digital marketing, and data insights discipline experts. This holistic team is responsible for implementing integrated marketing programs including those that drive demand generation through Global Demand Centers (GDCs) and Global Engagement Programs (GEPs). Besides working with your local leadership team, your professional partnership and network extends to the Microsoft Western European Headquarter. You lead your country and team to smartly maximize local marketing investments by fully exploiting global content, marketing services, and augmenting local work aligned to global strategies. The ideal candidate will be a strong business thinker with deep marketing understanding, a leader skilled to lead the marketing team and engender trust among sales leaders, and a rapid adopter, taking and sharing leading practices from peers. The CMO Leader not only manages a team to execute on global strategies but also champions effective local marketing integration and marketing operations to drive positive business outcomes. You must enjoy ongoing challenges in this multi-faceted, leadership role that combines strong agility, business thinking, marketing thought leadership, marketing operations excellence and masterfully leveraging global programs in your Area for the greater cause—all coming together to deliver the best solutions for our customers.

The Impact You’ll Be Making

  • Lead the Integrated Marketing plan with business goal alignment across Sales and Marketing leadership. (30% of time)
  • Land Integrated Field Marketing in Austria, including successful use of Global Demand Centers (GDCs) and Global Engagement Programs (GEPs) and governance over company processes and policies. (15% of time)
  • Drive marketing LT governance across business groups and segments. (15% of time)
  • Support (Industry) sellers thru local (industry) events and development of local customer evidence. (15% of time)
  • Oversee integrated marketing execution and optimization across prioritized audiences leveraging the Marketing Service Center (MSC) services, inclusive of marketing, and disciplines such as events & digital marketing, and data insights. Use all global assets, global infrastructure and adhere to global policies. Embrace Microsoft culture, and oversee compliance for Microsoft Accessibility Standards, Privacy/GDPR, and Microsoft brand stewardship for the country. (10% of time)
  • Develop, attract and export top talent worldwide; think business outcomes, embrace buyer centricity, market across the buyer journey, lead team to drive volume into the Global Engagment Program nurture streams. (15% of time)
Qualifications

Qualifications: Education, Key Experiences, Skills And Knowledge

  • Positive and pragmatic business thinker with experience of Marketing, Marketing Operations, and change management leadership experience in technology.
  • People management experience, leading teams to land marketing strategies, leverage corporate content, and augment integrated regional efforts that amplify/extend/scale marketing and enable sales.
  • Solid understanding of and appreciation for marketing automation concepts, marketing operations and integrated marketing. Strong analytical capabilities to make smart data-driven, business tradeoffs.
  • Proven experience managing strategic issues and challenges in a highly matrixed organization. Leads with unflappable agility and adeptly responds to changing business conditions, bringing marketers and sellers along on our transformational journey together. Experience working at a large global multinational is a plus.
  • Experience of working in high complexity international IT companies.
  • High degree of self-awareness and professional objectivity, executive maturity and presence, exceptional listening skills, broad world perspective and sense of humor. Excellent verbal and written communications and cross-organization collaboration skills. Exceptional skill in exerting influence and impact with executives and senior leaders in the company. Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent work experience required; MBA degree preferred but not required.
