    This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic team located in Pune, India. We are seeking a passionate Principal Engineer to join the Fusion Modelling team within our Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions division. In this role, you will part of a Pune-based scrum team and help us fulfil our mission to deliver the best software for our users CAD, CAM, CAE and PCB needs in a single, integrated cloud software platform. You will use your software programming skills to implement the next generation features and functionalities in our product and work with a world-class software engineering team.

    Responsibilities 

    • Use a product-focused mindset to lead the design, development and implementation of solutions to complex problems

    • Define and oversee high-level architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals

    • Review code written by others, provide feedback and ensure adoption of best practices to maintain high coding standards

    • Guide and mentor team members, fostering skill development and career growth

    • Work closely with stakeholders including Product Managers, Experience Designers, Quality Assurance, other Software Engineers, and have experience in working with distributed teams 

    • Help the team address technical challenges, remove obstacles, make decisions on critical issues, predict risk and devise mitigation strategies

    • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, robust and performant software solutions

    • Help lead technical aspects of projects such as planning, prioritisation, and execution to meet deadlines

    • Drive initiatives to help improve team processes

    • Be able to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

    • Promote a culture of trust, respect and inclusion within your team 

    • Willingness to learn and expand the technical breadth and depth, developing T-shaped skills 

    • Be flexible, proactive and respond quickly to multiple priorities under changing conditions and Agile process environment 

    Minimum Qualifications

    • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or a related field 

    • 8-12 years of software development experience with C++

    • Familiarity and/or experience with computer aided design (CAD) tools 

    • Demonstrable working knowledge of desktop application software development 

    • Experience with source code control systems such as GIT, GitHub

    • Knowledge of task management tools such as JIRA

    • Knowledge of Agile software development practices such as SCRUM 

    • Experience with Standard C++ libraries and commonly used containers and algorithms 

    • Working experience with modern IDEs such as XCODE, Visual Studio, CLION or similar 

    • Modern C++ (14, 17, 20 +) specification, architecture frameworks, techniques and patterns 

    The Ideal Candidate 

    • Practical experience programming in C++, having worked on several projects of some complexity with related and demonstrable skills, and with some real responsibility delivering working software 

    • Knowledge of User-Interface (UI) programming methodologies, tools, and techniques 

    • Solid understanding of common design patterns, algorithms, build systems, and modern source control systems are also desired 

    • Willing to take challenges and stretch outside comfort zone to grow

    • Thrives in a structured, agile, and collaborative team environment, and can take on tasks where a wide range of focus as needed

    Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on discretionary annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock or long-term incentive cash grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
