Job Details
The Demand and Supply Planner will play a critical role in orchestrating the end-to-end raw material planning process. This involves developing accurate monthly demand forecasts through statistical modeling and cross-functional collaboration, while also providing strategic input for inventory management. The role requires proactive supplier engagement, risk mitigation, and a commitment to continuous process improvement to minimize costs and optimize resource allocation.
Demand Planning
- Develop monthly raw material plans based on sales forecasts and historical sales trends.
- Conduct in-depth research on demand drivers, prepare accurate forecast data, and build statistical forecasting models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and finance, to understand and align demand forecast drivers.
- Monitor and report key changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and overall business strategies, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance demand forecast accuracy and reliability.
- Address demand-related challenges promptly, minimizing disruptions to business operations.
Supply Planning and Inventory Management
- Provide critical input to the Supply Planning team for developing inventory strategies for existing products, new product launches, and product phase-outs.
- Oversee material out-of-stock situations with a focus on minimizing cost impacts and lead times.
- Drive inventory optimization projects, including reserve liquidation, to ensure effective utilization of resources.
- Employ a proactive seller model for enhanced inventory management practices.
Supplier and Order Management
- Manage supplier communication and oversee the order placement process to ensure timely procurement of raw materials.
- Support risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline planning processes and implement data-driven solutions.
- Support management in making informed decisions by providing comprehensive analyses and actionable insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, business development, or research, with a strong understanding of demand planning principles.
- Advanced analytical skills with a strong aptitude for mathematics and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace tools (Sheets, Slides).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
- Creative thinker with excellent decision-making skills and the ability to solve complex challenges.
Additional Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams effectively.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting software/tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain software is preferred.
