The Facebook Legal team is seeking a motivated, highly-organized, detail-oriented candidate to join our Law Enforcement Legal Investigations Quality Audit Team. The right candidate must have a strong work ethic, impeccable judgement and exceptional partnering skills. We are seeking a team-oriented problem-solver who loves investigating problems, identifying root causes, and rallying people to drive change across a global organization. You work well in high pressure situations, have formidable investigations skills, are comfortable with both tools/system and policy, and are an excellent communicator.

This position is full-time and is based in our Austin or Washington DC office.

  • Accurately assess the credibility of potential threats in an effort to prevent online and real-world harm
  • Identify risk patterns and link abusive behavior within a large data set
  • Conduct weekly quality assessments across a global organization encompassing complex workflow processes
  • Use quantitative & qualitative research methods to perform post-hoc root cause analyses on designated high priority escalations
  • Track/flag trends and patterns within the assessments
  • Create and present case reviews that adapt to various audiences (leadership, PR, external partners, etc.) so that we have a unified message and an understanding of events and root causes
  • Identify and recommend improvements to policies, processes, systems, and products that mitigates risk to the company
  • Support the Legal Investigations Team on its quality initiatives, create data-driven insights on escalation trends, and maintain feedback loops to leverage these trends to mitigate risk
  • Remain up to date on key workflow changes, operational guidelines, and policy updates
  • Address sensitive content issues, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, and other objectionable/sensitive/offensive material
  • Willing and able to maturely work with sensitive issues that includes exposure to potentially traumatic and offensive content

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of investigations or analysis experience in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domains
  • Self-starter with experience investigating and analyzing credible threat signals
  • Proven analytical and investigative skills combined with experience sifting through and deciphering credible threats and key signals from large amounts of content and data
  • Experience using various computer systems, social media, analytical tools, and internet-based research tools
  • Experience driving high priority and ambiguous cases through defined process to resolution
  • Experience communicating to a variety of audiences
  • Experience working independently during high pressure situations, and when dealing with grey areas and ambiguity
  • Decision-making experience with little to no supervision
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
