This Sourcing Operation Manager role will drive end 2 end sourcing, from supplier selection, supplier management, supply chain till end of life disposition process; leverage economies of scale, deliver cost efficiencies and exceed quality and speed expectations for Microsoft.  This role will focus not only on managing strategic sourcing and supply chain activities related to hardware and technology but also on executing them against standard processes and tools to increase rigor and drive efficiency for the Microsoft Procurement Group. This person will be responsible and accountable for Supplier performance and relationship management as well as pricing and contract negotiation to deliver and lead sourcing strategies to support employee device management program.  This role reports to a Group Manager, Sourcing Strategy and Operations.   

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of sourcing strategy, contracting requirements, pricing negotiations for complex, strategic deals with services spanning multiple business units at Microsoft.
  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers and channel partners to meet/beat KPI and SLA.
  • Conduct impactful Business Review Cadence that drive business strategy.
  • Lead the development of business case documentation at conclusion of strategic sourcing activities, deliver and present data-driven business case content at the Executive level.
  • Lead the deployment of rigorous project management milestones within the strategic sourcing process.
  • Lead engagement with Microsoft stakeholders and partners from project kick-off through business case approvals, while ensuring high level CSAT and economic benefits for Microsoft as a result.
  • Establish and maintain a regular cadence with Procurement engagement teams to drive alignment of business requirements, economic opportunity areas, mutual accountability to Microsoft stakeholders for sourcing execution and overall improvement to business metrics through procurement activities.
  • Accountable for overseeing supplier books of business across the company and implementing efficiencies where possible.
  • Drive data accuracy, process efficiency and operational excellence by Technology.
  • Liaison with key corporate stakeholders to successfully execute category, program and contracting requirements (e.g., Legal Finance, Engineering, Procurement engagement teams, etc.).

  • Established knowledge (and observed application) of best practice outsourcing methodologies including strategic sourcing, direct contract negotiations, financial modeling and other contracting techniques.
  • Passion for technology, curious and demonstrate system thinking.
  • Well organized, self-motivate and drive for outcome.
  • Prior experience with driving process simplification and/or improvement in a large, complex environment using technology.
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver business case content to Executive decision-makers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree plus minimum 5 years of business experience in the fields of Technology Procurement, Hardware, Manufacturing, Supplier management, Value Engineering, Finance or Contract Management.
  • Sound knowledge in area of Technology, Hardware, Manufacturing.
  • 5 years sourcing and contracting experience, including strategic sourcing of relevant projects and services of at least $300M in contract spend.
  • Proven program management and cross-functional team leadership skills are added advantage.
  • Consulting experience or approach in Operations Management, Procurement and Supply Chain
  • Sound experience in process, dashboard and tools development to improve productivity, efficiency and user experience in Procurement or Supply Chain space
  • Hands on with reporting technologies is an added advantage – Power BI etc.
