Path Forward Returnship - Content Marketing Manager

The Path Forward Return to Work program at LendingClub is a 16-week paid returnship for experienced engineers returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to women and men who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. LendingClub is looking for an enthusiastic Content Marketing Manager who loves building online experiences that entertain and educate. First and foremost, you are a storyteller. Videos, blog articles, and interactive web pages just happen to be your stock-in-trade.

As part of the Product Marketing team, you’ll build new mobile-first and in-app experiences that build loyalty and advocacy of LendingClub’s products. This is a high impact position within LendingClub, providing significant growth opportunity for an ambitious individual.

You will be responsible for shepherding creative through development, writing, and editing, including customer stories, videos, radio scripts, resource articles, blog posts, and emails.

Practice deep customer empathy and know how to weave together data, testimonials, and competitive differentiation into clear, concise, and compelling narratives. You have a penchant for collaboration and are adept at driving cross-functional alignment.

  • Tell amazing stories that differentiate LendingClub from the competition, drive customer attention, and increase loan applications
  • Take complex product features and bring them to life in clear, concise prose
  • Develop blog posts and other long-form pieces to drive organic traffic, top of funnel awareness, and acquisition
  • Write copy that drives deep understanding of our products, features, and pricing
  • Collaborate with other marketers to build compelling content to support paid social, display, email, search, and native advertising
  • Champion the customer by developing tailored messages for different target audiences
  • Repurpose content produced internally into innovative collateral that furthers our brand awareness and engagement
  • Continually test and analyze conversion data to determine the optimal approach to reaching end engaging our target audiences
  • 4+ years relevant experience in content marketing or communications, including a strong multimedia portfolio
  • 2 years out from the workforce
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communications skills
  • Experience with product launches in a B2C environment (fintech experience a plus)
  • Knowledge and experience acquiring and converting visitors to customers
  • Focused on solutions - identifies areas of opportunity and proposes solutions
  • Act like an owner, guiding the content creation process from ideation through execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Competent in an iterative, test-and-learn approach to marketing
  • An upbeat and willing attitude—you love to jump in and help wherever you can
  • Bachelor's degree
