Lead a geographically dispersed team composed of employees, contracted staff and managed service providers in the delivery of effective, innovative, compliant and stable solutions that meet the needs of the Bristol Myers Squibb.

Detailed Position Responsibilities

  • Active member of the IT Business Applications GPS and Lab Compute Services team.  Collaborate with peers and partners to develop, support, and align strategies for business process improvements through information systems automation.
  • Accountable for continuous operation and maintenance of Enterprise Lab, Controlled Document Management, Clinical Supply Operations and Product Development applications.  Ensuring applications meet defined operational SLAs, possess tested disaster recovery/service continuity plans, stand up to global regulatory scrutiny, remain current with respect to vendor component technology lifecycle standards, and are cyber secure.
  • Provide IT leadership towards inspection readiness and data integrity initiatives of applications within portfolio.
  • Participate in high-level strategic communications and staff development activities with leadership teams.
  • Manage new demand from the various partner functions (Product Development, Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Science & Technology, Corporate Compliance) through the IT stage gate process.
  • Identify key technology trends and how new technologies might be leveraged to provide better solutions.  Develop and renew application roadmaps for scope of responsibility.
  • Manage annual operating budget and new investment project spend to defined targets.

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a life sciences or engineering discipline or a minimum of 10 years of equivalent biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Greater than 10 years in multiple organizational contexts, including IT, CSV, linking technology to business needs in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in information technology, preferably within a life sciences operations environment. Experience should range from product development, manufacturing and quality control systems (governed by GxP).
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills in building and managing high performance teams.
  • Excellent skills in change management, personnel mentoring and coaching, performance evaluation, life-long learning, and diagnosis of sources of problems in both technology and business processes.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and the role technology plays in satisfying those requirements is essential to this position.
  • Understanding of best practices in SDLC and ITIL.
  • Must be client service-driven with excellent relationship management and analytical skills.
  • Experience in supporting/managing LIMS, Chromatography, Controlled Document Management, and Product Development applications preferred.
