INTURN is looking for an experienced professional with strong analytic capabilities to help build out its Finance Team. The role of the Financial Planning Analyst/Manager is to support the executive management team achieve INTURN's strategic and operational goals through the development of financial models and in depth analysis. Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy, the Financial Planning Analyst/Manager will provide monthly analysis of financial results, drive the budgeting process, and prepare adhoc analysis as needed. The successful candidate must have excellent Excel skills, be able to demonstrate command of the key metrics and drivers of the business and be capable of working independently across multiple departments in the organization.

The position start date is June/July 2017.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting presentation for Board, including analysis of budget vs. actual results with commentary and recommendations.
  • Administer, prepare, and review monthly financial reports for Board and compare actual results with a view to identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Accountable for the annual budget process including timelines, templates and spreadsheet models.
  • Streamline client invoicing process and proactively work with client account managers on accounts receivable.
  • Enhance monthly and annual accounting process and collaborate with third party accountants for timely reporting.
  • Develop rolling quarterly forecast models based on actuals vs budget results and latest assumptions from operating managers.
  • Provide financial support in the development of business cases to justify key business initiatives and the financial implications.
  • Develop and maintain unit cost analysis of production departments identifying key financial attributes of each area. Make key recommendations to Department Heads.
  • Analysis around customer segmentation, profit and sales analytics.
  • Support individual business teams with reporting, analysis and training.
  • Performs complex analyses, identifies trends and insights, and translates data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Identify and establish opportunities for system and process improvements that will improve the accuracy and efficiencies of financial information.

Education

  • BA/BS or Masters in finance or accounting
  • CPA is a plus

Key Qualifications

  • 3-7 years experience in a financial reporting role, preferably with both experience at a corporation and startup
  • Process-oriented individual
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. spreadsheet modeling, macro building, advanced formulas); proficient in MS Office (especially Powerpoint)
  • Strong financial modeling experience, specifically the ability to translate complex business situations into comprehensive financial models
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the proven ability to build and enhance FP&A processes
  • Extensive experience with budgeting headcounts and hiring plan
  • Experience with Treasury Cash Management a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with financial statement analysis and P&L forecasting, and financial, management, and KPI reporting
  • Ability to both work independently and collaborate in a team environment
  • Strategic thinking, well developed analytical skills
  • Strong organizational/ project management skills
  • Familiarity with multiple financial reporting tools
