What do you get to do in this position?

Develop understanding of design intent of the project and provide assistance to the Project Engineer and/or Designer.

  • Review interim work products and provide feedback regarding accuracy, completeness and value during the development and design of the project.

  • Develop scope of work budgets for initial feasibility assessment of the scope.

  • Provide constructability review of project scope of work during the development and design phase of the project.

  • Develop relationships and qualify subcontractors based on company guidelines and needs of the project.

  • Solicit bids and proposals from qualified subcontractors.

  • Assist in the qualification and negotiation of subcontractor bids.

  • Develop scope of work estimates for subcontractor bid normalization.

  • Develop construction phasing plans.

  • Coordinate with regional teams during the development phase of the project.

  • In collaboration with Project Development Manager, transition project from development team to regional construction team.

  • Provides assistance to Construction Manager in the review, acceptance and negotiation of subcontractor change order request.

  • Assures that each project undergoes a thorough Quality Control review and that all deficiencies are corrected prior to submittal to agencies, clients or contractors.

  • May assist in agency coordination related to project.

  • Performs periodic site inspections of project to ensure project conforms to plans and specifications.

  • Attend client meetings as required.

  • During construction, review interim work products and submittals and provide needed feedback regarding accuracy, completeness and value.

  • Manage and monitor multiple projects to communicate and coordinate with regional stakeholders.

    This job might be for you if:

    7 years of pre construction management experience for water and wastewater projects

  • Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process optimization, automation and control

  • Must possess knowledge of construction estimating, cost, project controls, scheduling, documentation, engineering and construction principles, techniques, materials applications and practices within the water and wastewater market..

  • Solid coordination skills in internal resource and third parties/vendor management.

  • Strong ability to deliver multiple projects on time, within scope and within budget.

    Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft products, and experience with project related systems such as Microsoft Project.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Be or become familiar with local general contractors, contractors and other service and supply vendors.

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering

  • PE, CEM, LEED AP, Water or Wastewater Operator certification desirable

  • 10 years experience water and/or wastewater engineering, design, operation and management

  • Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process optimization, automation and control

  • Collection and distribution system pump station optimization, automation and control

  • Ability to develop and present energy solutions to reduce energy consumption, enhance process control and increase operational efficiency of water and wastewater systems

  • Ability to work in a team environment encompassing business development, technical support and analysis, project management, construction, measurement and verification

  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

  • Possess analytical and costing skills.

  • Have professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
