The Department

Invesco is seeking a Junior Bank Loan Trader to join the Invesco Senior Secured Management team. This role is within the Global Bank Loans Department.

Your Role

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Team with the primary responsibility of providing trade support for the bank loan platform supporting various strategies. The candidate must be capable of working closely with other members of the team and support the business in meeting trading goals. A successful candidate will have superb analytical skills, an understanding of bank loans and markets, and have the ability to work in an organized and efficient manner. He or she must be able to balance and prioritize various trading needs in a fast-paced work environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assist the ISSM traders with various aspects of the bank loan trading process, including but not limited to, pre-trade compliance support, timely and accurate trade entry, trade processing issue resolution and building trade allocations
  • Ensure trade orders and allocations are properly entered into the firm’s order management system and reconcile with counter parties
  • Provide essential support to the traders and PM’s with miscellaneous and ad hoc needs, including client inquires and assist with organizing all primary and secondary trade axes and statistics
  • Ensure an efficient and effective partnership with the Bank Loan Operations team as the primary liaison on all trade and settlement issues to meet industry standards and metrics
  • Assist with material generation and documentation of various items for use in portfolio management meetings
  • Communicate directly with broker/dealer counterparties on primary and secondary trade reconciliation
  • Utilize various electronic trading platforms for trade data and execution
  • Assist in the new account and strategy transition process

The experience you bring:

  • 0-2 year’s work experience (College Graduate with a business concentration Finance/Accounting preferred)
  • Asset management / trading experience preferred but not required. Desire to pursue or working toward the CFA is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg and various electronic trading platforms preferred but not required; experience using order management systems a plus
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • A high degree of enthusiasm for investment management
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Aptitude for detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on projects
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
