    Position Overview

    Architects, engineers, designers, artists, and makers of all backgrounds use Autodesk Forge to innovate new experiences in manufacturing, architecture, and media. Underlying all that is a variety of cloud applications, automation tools, and a tight focus on operating a cloud platform responsible for the world's design & make data. You'll be the Product Manager driving the strategy and roadmap for most of Autodesk's cloud compute capabilities while potentially also managing a small team of Product Managers in other areas.

    The Forge Group Product Manager in our Run group will be the voice of the customer as part of the Forge Run leadership team and will be a key player in establishing a strategy to enable SaaS operational excellence. You'll work with designers, engineers, and researchers to conduct user research, validate solutions, launch software products, and develop patterns of sustainable operations.

    Our Mission

    We provide a set of platform products and services that enable our application teams to deliver their products to Autodesk’s customers in a fast, secure, compliant and cost effective manner. Our Cloud Runtime products offer all aspects of customer security, observability, incident management, and analytics to enable fast detection, remediation, and to communicate transparently, openly and with psychological safety.

    We participate and help define many of Autodesk’ cloud Standards and we strive to automate most of these as part of our platform, so our customers won’t have to worry about them.

    We are Cloud Farmers, we manage our fleet as a farm, not potted plants. We want economies of scale, and to build only what makes sense to do so.

    We strive to delight our customers with highly available and secure services in partnership with Autodesk product teams. We will provide easy to onboard, clearly documented and well supported Observability tools and practices which enable product teams to create strong feedback loops at various stages of their value stream.

    We endeavor to continually strengthen our runtime by adopting a true DevOps culture of fast flow, feedback loops, and continuous learning and experimentation.

    Some interesting points:

    • We have 800+ AWS accounts
    • Around 7-8,000 EC2 Instances
    • A few dozen Petabytes of storage
    • A few hundred DBs
    • Code running from Java 6-11, from Win 7 - Windows most recent; Linux and Windows, Node, Ruby, Java, .NET, Python, Django, Kotlin, C++.
    • Containers running on ECS, EKS, Windows Containers.

    Responsibilities

    Manage expectations of stakeholders through frequent and clear communication of vision, strategy, and roadmap

    Collaborate with designers and researchers to advocate for, plan, and execute user research and solution validation plans

    Use a lean product mindset to drive product decisions and roadmap development

    Document user needs in workflows, use cases, or customer journeys

    Set and evaluate product success using qualitative and quantitative measures

    Practice facilitative leadership to drive decision making and prioritization towards positive team and product outcomes

    Contribute to the the product management culture at Autodesk

    Run strives for lean strategies, weighing the right ROI for the company - these strategies guide our build vs buy choices. We use various open source and SaaS tools for our business, so managing vendors is an important skillset.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 8+ years working as Product Manager
    • Experience with shipping technical products
    • Experience with enterprise scale public cloud infrastructure.
    • Ability to break down complex problems into user-focused solutions
    • Experience defining and tracking product metrics
    • Experience evaluating a quickly moving competitive landscape especially in cloud computing, business process automation, and devops tooling
    • Strong project management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and persuasive presentation skills
    • Passion for enabling operational excellence with global impact
    • Familiarity with cloud computing and the way distributed systems interact
    • Ability to travel 5-10%
    • Bonus: 2+ years of people management experience
